My name is Don Lassing and I have been a police officer with the Festus Police Department since 1985. I am currently the Assistant Chief of Police and I hold the rank of Captain.
My tenure with the department includes Patrol Officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant, and my current position as Captain. I have also served with the Greater St. Louis Major Case Squad as an Investigator for 20 years and am currently a Supervisor with the Squad.
I am a 2010 Graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy Session 240; I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Lindenwood University in St. Charles MO., an Associate/Science Degree from Mineral Area College in Park Hills MO, and I am a member of the Missouri Police Chief’s Association.
I look forward to continuing my service to the community. I encourage all citizens within our fine community to communicate with the Police Department to help us make the City of Festus a great place to live, work, and visit.
