The Twin City S.R.T. (Special Response Team) is a specialized tactical team that is on-call 24 hours a day.  It consists of a team commander, team leader, and 10 members.  The team members work regular duty assignments in patrol and investigations.  The team handles hostage/barricade situations, serves high risk warrants, and provides dignitary protection.  The team prides itself in its training, dedication, and professionalism and acts as an effective tool in modern law enforcement. 

The team is a multi-jurisdictional tactical team with members from Festus and Crystal City.  In the past the team has worked in area cities through mutual aid agreements.  It was decided that to better serve all communities involved, the team should consist of officers from both cities.  As like the original members, the new officers are required to pass a battery of stringent physical tests.

The team is very well-equipped with the proper attire and weaponry to complete their assigned tasks.  They use H&K MP-5's, Glock .45 handguns, and Benelli shotguns.  The team has in-service training at least once a month and attends several conferences and other types of training throughout the year.
